Class Description

D. Stafford & Associates offers a 4-hour Title VI Law and Policy class. This class is designed to provide a solid overview of an institution’s responsibilities for addressing discrimination on the basis of race, color, and/or national origin.

Has your institution implemented robust anti-discrimination policies, trained staff, and ensured equal access to education and related activities on campus? This intensive four-hour course is designed for Title VI Coordinators and higher education civil rights administrators seeking a comprehensive understanding of Title VI compliance. You will delve into the legal frameworks, key requirements, and recent developments in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Learn practical strategies for campus compliance with federal anti-discrimination laws, explore best practices for addressing incidents of discrimination and harassment, and develop strong policies to foster an equitable campus environment.

Some of the key topics that will be covered include:

  • Overview, history, and legal landscape of Title VI
  • Strategies for ensuring campus compliance with Title VI
  • Development and implementation of effective compliance policies
  • Practical case studies and recent OCR audit activity to illustrate key concepts

Who Should Attend

This class is appropriate for campus officials who are responsible for responding to and managing allegations of discrimination on the basis of race, color, and/or national origin.

Certification

Attendees of this class will receive a certificate of completion from D. Stafford & Associates. Certification verifies attendance at this class and can serve as an institution’s documentation that the attendee has received Title VI Coordinator training.

Faculty

This training program will feature expert faculty who serve or have served as practitioners on college and university campuses and have significant experience and expertise in managing Title VI cases.

This class is a 4-hour class (with time built in for breaks).

  • from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm Eastern Time.
