Title IX Coordinator Track
These classes are appropriate for Title IX Coordinators. It is suggested that Title IX Coordinators take the classes in the Coordinator Track in order of the Tiers (Tier 1, Tier 2, etc.) unless they have received other Title IX training that covers similar content. In that case, Title IX Coordinators are welcome to take any of the available classes in the order that suits their needs and schedules. Title IX Coordinators are welcome to take any classes in the Title IX Investigation Track as well.
Title IX Investigation Track
These classes are appropriate for Title IX Investigators. It is suggested that Title IX Investigators take the classes in the Investigation Track in the order of the Tiers (Tier 1, Tier 2, etc.) and so on unless they have received other Title IX Investigation training that covers similar content. In that case, Title IX Investigators are welcome to take any of the available classes in the order that suits their needs and schedules. Title IX Investigators are welcome to take any classes in the Title IX Coordinator Track as well.
General Information
The DSA Title IX team has trained over 10,000 Title IX Coordinators, Investigators, Hearing Officers and Advisors across the country and is well-known for delving into the practical application of Title IX. The DSA team, comprised of seasoned practitioners, and all have served as Title IX Coordinators/Deputy Coordinators and Investigators for institutions of higher education. As further changes to the required processes are made by the Office for Civil Rights, those changes are immediately incorporated into all relevant DSA classes.
Tier 4: Title IX Investigator Class: Statement Analysis
Class Description
D. Stafford & Associates offers a 7-hour class on statement analysis. This course includes instruction in identifying unique sensory details, equivocations, negations, extraneous information, statement balance and order of appearance in written statements.
Some of the key topics that will be covered are:
- The construction of sentences
- How written language is used to convey thoughts and actions
- How to use written statements provided by parties to identify spaces where an investigator should continue seeking information
- To identify areas in a party’s statements related to credibility
Who Should Attend
This class is appropriate for Title IX investigators and other administrators/staff conducting administrative investigations into claims of sexual misconduct, including personnel in campus police/public safety who are involved in conducting these types of administrative investigations.
Certification
Attendees of this class will receive a certificate of completion from D. Stafford & Associates. Certification verifies attendance at this class and can serve as an institution’s documentation that the attendee has received training in the subject matter addressed by this class.
Faculty
This training program will feature an expert faculty member who conducted statement analysis as a federal agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Logistics
This class is a 7-hour class (with time built in for breaks).
